Aries:

Movement.
Jupiter and Pluto never do anything by halves, and with Jupiter currently in the zone of financial relationships and Pluto influencing career and life-direction, there could be some extremely positive developments in these areas of life. It is possible that this aspect will preside over a financial upset or some other matter crucial to your ambitions.

Wednesday's Capricorn new moon is indicative of a window of opportunity opening now or within the next two to four weeks. And this is a good thing. A new phase is beginning and to a certain extent these past two weeks have been about clearing away the past in preparation for a fresh start.


Taurus:

Expanding your horizon.
If last week set the cat among the pigeons and had you running in ten different directions at once, this week gives you time to think and opportunities to grow. The zone of far horizons continues to be in the mainframe, so if you're not on your travels you could be hooking up with people in distant locations. This is an excellent week to put your signature to a personal, professional or financial agreement, and should you be concerned about money, your job or a relationship now is the time to discuss your hopes or fears with the relevant people. A new moon in your fellow earth sign, Capricorn, sets a new order in motion, and the readier you are to expand your horizons, the better.

Gemini:

Making financial sense.
Pluto has been a long-term resident in the zone of financial relations, so you may have already received a monetary bonus or, by contrast, seen your income change, perhaps in a less than welcome way. Pluto now harmoniously aligns with fortunate Jupiter setting the stage for a promising financial arrangement or a development that requires you radically rethink your fiscal situation. On the one hand, this is a good time to form a business or financial partnership and, on the other, a period in which an honest evaluation of where you are money-wise is mandatory. And, of course, there could be other aspects of life which would benefit from a radical review.


Cancer:

Be open to discussion.
If life has been seamless since the opening to the year, you are one of an elite group of Cancerians. For the main part events have been intense and challenging. Which is why you might welcome this comparatively calm and productive period. Good things invariably come out of difficulties, so a door that might have seemed closed last week could now be open a chink. Other people may come to you with offers or they may simply be open to discussion, in which case you should be prepared to negotiate. Think of your end game, not about being in the right. Jupiter's participation in events is extremely good news, and at the very least something or someone should make you very happy.


Leo:

Getting out there.
Venus and the Sun move into the zone of relating, setting the stage for meetings of the remarkable kind. On the one hand, over the course of the next four weeks, some Leo's could begin a new romance; others may put a love affair on a permanent footing; and in general this should be an extremely productive period for bringing people on side, whether for business or pleasure. Certainly, if you have been complaining that work is slow or that you don't get the breaks you need, an intense bout of networking from now until mid-February could yield positive results. This has been a bumpy start to 2018 so each time opportunity knocks, make sure you open the door.


Virgo:

No time like the present. 
It is around this time in January that reality sets in: all the resolutions we made and the energy we mustered to get moving with projects close to our hearts starts to fade: that balloon once full of air is deflating. Fortunately, the astrology does not support this yearly trend; instead you may have reason to believe that your efforts are already meeting with some success. And if you are experiencing a case of the post-holiday blues, get moving on one endeavour that could make a big difference to your happiness, and you should soon have evidence you're on the right track. Jupiter's position in the area of travel and communications makes 2018 a year to spread your influence far and wide: get out that megaphone!


Libra:

A new dynamic.
If you're looking to shift a large obstacle, these influences could prove a big help. Pluto in the home zone and Jupiter in the area of finances combine to give you something of a boost. Perfect if you're considering buying or selling a property; ideal if you need to build better family relations and set a long-term project on a sure footing. Whatever the first half of January brought in the way of difficulties and dramas, there is a new start here in the astrology. Put the past behind you and get on with constructing the future. And with the Sun and Venus moving into the fun-filled fifth house, make some time for pleasurable activities and, of course, love.


Scorpio:

Getting there.
Are we still feeling the buzz? I hope so, because aspects like these are intended to motivate you to achieve your dearest goals. Even if you only move forward an inch, you're further on than you were last week! Jupiter harmoniously links with ruler, Pluto, encouraging you to give of your best, whatever the challenge or the circumstances. This time next year you want to be looking back on this time and congratulating yourself on having seized the moment.

Sagittarius:

Reviewing the situation.
A new moon in the area of self-worth is a sign of better things to come. A new source of income, perhaps, an injection of capital, maybe, but for most Sagittarians this new moon inspires new and better ways of managing your money. Saturn is newly in this area and may be revealing already where cuts should be made and more self-discipline exerted, and with the Christmas bills coming in and accounts due, this is the perfect moment to get your monetary house in order. Capricorn:

Aquarius:

Armed and ready.
Venus and the Sun enter your sign, releasing you from a passage in which your confidence may have been dampened and your energies low. And even if you've been on an upswing since the year began, these influences can do much for your morale. This might be the time for a discussion about the future of a romantic or business relationship. Whether you have been experiencing doubts about its sustainability or anxious to set the relationship on a permanent footing, negotiations will be more productive under a celestial canopy like this. Be the one to initiate a discussion; that way you'll empower yourself, and if the other person makes the first move, have your agenda prepared.

Pisces: 

Time for some alone time.
The Sun and Venus move into the twelfth house for a four-week visit, after which they will enter your sign. From now until mid-February you should put your health and well-being first: aim to cut down your social commitments, delegate various duties and defer tasks that require you to be on top form. In an ideal world you would be on a yoga retreat but you could instead settle for a little quiet time.
